Medicine & research

From mechanism to patient care.

Earlier research in chemical biology and recent work in ocular oncology form a scientific foundation for a future in cardiac surgery, outcomes research, and clinically grounded bioethics.

Prospective direction

Cardiac surgery as the field ahead.

I am drawn to cardiac surgery by the union it demands: precise knowledge of mechanism, disciplined technical practice, coordinated clinical judgment, and responsibility to patients at moments of exceptional consequence.

My present task is medical formation. I do not claim a current cardiothoracic research appointment; the interests below describe the direction in which I intend to develop during medical school and beyond.

Lab work

Colibactin-induced DNA damage

Characterized interactions between colibactin and short oligonucleotides and used enzymatic assays to investigate ClbS activity, DNA alkylation, damage, and repair.
